Arlington, Texas - Emily Koenig knew she would have her hands full this Saturday at the McNeese State Asics Cowboy Stampede but the freshman from Temple, Texas stood her ground, finishing first in the 5k run.
As a team, UT Arlington (38) took home the crown, beating out LSU (63), Central Arkansas (66), Southeastern Louisiana (102), UL Lafayette (104), Northwestern State (121) and McNeese State only had four runners competing which was not enough for a team total.
Koenig finished the race with a time of 17:40. 62 and has now captured three first place finishes in the Mavericks four meets.
Not far behind was Amanda McMahon who earned a 6th place finish with a time of 18:14.63 while Jennifer Carey crossed the finish line in 7th place with a time of 18:33.33.
