Freshman Emily Koenig looks to lead the women's team to a first place finish

Arlington, Texas - UT Arlington freshman Emily Koenig was named the Southland Conference women's cross country athletes of the week, respectively by vote of the league's sports information directors Tuesday.

In her very first collegiate meet, Koenig, a native of Temple, Texas, guided the Mavericks to a third place finish with her time of 14:31.88 in the 4k run, earning first place.
