NACOGDOCHES, Tex. - Tara Frantz and Amanda Aguilera each finished with double-figure kill totals but Stephen F. Austin beat UT Arlington 3-0 Saturday afternoon.
The Lumberjacks got 13 kills and five blocks from Katzy Randall in beating the Mavericks 25-21, 25-18, 25-22.
Saturday marked UT Arlington head coach Diane Seymour's return to the sideline.
"I thought it was better and we were more consistent than we were Thursday against Sam Houston State," Seymour said. "But we are still far too much of a roller coaster-team considering how many seniors we have."
Frantz led the team with 13 kills. Aguilera added 10 kills and added four digs.
However, the three other starters combined for a -.182 attack percentage.
"We are going to get back in the gym and continue to mix and match with some position players," Seymour said. "I am concerned with the kill production from our middle blockers. We are not getting enough kills from them and we will continue to search for the best combination. Whoever can get more kills will see more playing time."
Alicia Shaffer led the Mavericks on defense by posting 19 digs.
Eld-hah Kaswatuka came off the bench to post five kills and six digs.
UT Arlington (7-15, 3-5) returns to the court Wednesday when it travels to Texas State at 6:30 p.m.
