Battle of the Beach Final Results
The UT Arlington golf team finished its first spring tournament in 12th place at the second annual Battle of the Beach Tuesday.
The Mavericks finished the third round with a total of 380, which dropped them back to the 12th place finish. UTA finished with a three round total of 1,118 (+68).
Zack Fischer and Carson Kallis finished the tournament as the top Mavericks as they each were in a tie for 35th at nine-over 219.
Fischer shot a six-over 76 Tuesday while Kallis carded a seven-over 77.
Wes Worster had the low round of the day for the Mavericks as he shot a three-over 73. The senior finished in a tie for 52nd at 13-over 223. Joining him with that score was Paul McConnell who shot a 78 Tuesday.
Jesse Gibson had his best round of the tournament Tuesday with a 76 and he finished in 75th with a score of 235 (+25). Brian Smith recorded an 82 in the final round and finished in 81st place (242, +32).
San Diego's Kenneth McCready won the tournament with a seven-under score of 203.
UCLA came from behind Tuesday to win the team title with a score of 1,057 in the play six, count five format.
The Mavericks now have a month off before returning to California for their next tournament on March 14 and 15.
