Arlington, Texas - The UT Arlington women's and men's tennis teams face Xavier at Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield, Texas, on March 8. The women's match is set for 11:30 a.m. while the men's is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
The No. 63 Mavericks are looking to continue their winning ways against the Musketeers who are 4-6 on the year.
Maria Martinez-Romero leads the team with a 7-0 singles record and has four doubles wins with Nikola Matovicova. The standout junior is coming off a 6-3, 2-6 and 6-3 win against Martina Rubesova. The win against Rubesova snapped her 23-game singles win streak.
The men's team is hoping to rebound after falling in their last two matches. The Mavericks are coming off a 4-3 setback against conference foe UTSA.
Xavier's men's team is 6-6 on the season and have won their last two matches.
UTA has six players with three singles wins while the doubles team of Brieuc Hamon and Lucas Leppin have a perfect 7-0 mark.
Following the match against Xavier, the men's team will return back to the UTA Tennis Center to face Southern Miss. Match is set for 2 p.m.
The women's will get back into conference action on March 12-13 where they will host McNeese State (3-4) and Lamar (8-0) at the UTA Tennis Center. Match time for the McNeese State game is set for 11 a.m. while the Lamar match is set for 10 a.m.
