AUSTIN - UT Arlington fell to the No. 11 Texas Longhorns in a hard-fought 7-0 loss at the Penick-Allison Tennis Center.
The Mavericks' No. 1 doubles team of Mindaugas Celedinas and Soren Goritzka held a 5-4 lead before UT's Camillone and Holiner came back by winning four straight games and the match 8-5.
In singles play, Celedinas faced No. 69 Nation Daniel Whitehead. Celedinas split the first two sets with Whitehead, but lost in the super-tiebreaker 10-6.
David Subirats, playing at the No. 4 singles spot, also pushed his match to three sets after splitting the first two with UT's Lloyd Glasspool, but fell in the super-tiebreaker as well.
The Mavericks have a few days off before hosting Nicholls State Tuesday at 11 a.m. for their first conference match of the season at the UTA Tennis Center.
