Final Stats

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Jordan Reves' season-high 21 points helped UT Arlington snap a three-game losing in Thursday night's 75-67 Western Athletic Conference victory over UTSA at the Convocation Center.

The Mavericks led wire to wire in improving to 7-6 overall and 2-2 in the WAC. UT Arlington scored its most points since its 81-47 win over Houston Baptist on Dec. 13.

The Mavericks raced out of the gates, taking a 19-4 lead on sophomore guard Jamel Outler's 4-point play eight minutes into the game. Reves was especially active inside, scoring eight of UT Arlington's first 15 points and 17 points in the first half. The senior center added eight rebounds on the night.

"Jordan Reves was phenomenal. He really got it going," UT Arlington coach Scott Cross said. "The guys were awesome tonight. I knew it was a matter of time before we got it going offensively."

Outler (11 points), freshman guard Drew Charles (12) and junior forward Brandon Edwards (11) joined Reves in double figures. It's the first time this season the Mavericks had four players in double figures.

The Mavericks took a 45-29 lead into halftime on the strength of 69.2-percent shooting. Junior guard Shaquille White-Miller matched his season's best in assists with six at the break, and finished the game with nine points.

UT Arlington played much of the second half with a double-digit advantage, leading by as much as 19 points, before a last-ditch push by the Roadrunners. The Mavericks shot a season-high 57.8 percent (26-45) - only the second time in 13 games that UTA shot higher than 50 percent.

The Mavericks made a change to the lineup, with Charles making his first career start. Senior forward Kevin Butler moved into a sixth-man role after making 10 consecutive starts.

Kannon Burrage scored 17 to lead the Roadrunners, who dropped to 4-11 and 0-5. UTSA was held to 37.5-percent shooting.

UT Arlington's two-game WAC road trip concludes Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at longtime rival Texas State.
