SAN DIEGO, California - The UT Arlington men's golf team placed sixth Tuesday at the San Diego Classic.
The Mavericks shot an 18-over-par 882 for the three-round event. UT Arlington came into final day in fifth place.
"We grinded out a sixth-place finish against some of the top teams in the nation, such as Oregon State, Missouri and Arizona," UT Arlington coach Jay Rees said. "We still have to get all five guys to have a good week at the same tournament. When that happens, we will win again."
The Mavericks had three golfers place in the top-20. Hunter Brown tied for 13th with a plus-3 219. Paul McConnell and Cameron Hollek tied for 16th, each shooting 220.
San Diego State won the Classic, with TCU finished second and Arizona State third.
