ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington softball team will take on Metroplex rival North Texas Tuesday for the third time this season.
The game is slated for 4 p.m. in Denton at Lovelace Stadium.
The Mavericks (22-24, 6-12 WAC) are coming off a four-win week, including their first conference sweep of the season and a midweek victory over the Mean Green.
"This game against UNT is an important one for us to get some quality work in," UT Arlington coach Kristie Fox said.
This matchup marks the 41st meeting between the two schools, with the Mavs leading the series 25-15. The two teams met last week in a Wednesday midweek matchup and UTA took the 2-1 win after a career-first home run from sophomore Nina Villanueva.
North Texas (25-22) is coming off a three-win weekend over Sun Belt Conference rival Louisiana-Monroe.
"We are still focused on trying to get into the WAC tournament. I think that having live at-bats is a great thing for our hitters heading into a very important weekend against UTSA," Fox said.
Following the Tuesday game against North Texas, UT Arlington will travel to San Antonio to face UTSA in a three-game series starting Friday at 6 p.m. CT.
