ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington opened the 2015 season on Friday, as the team held its first official practice of the season at Clay Gould Ballpark.

The Mavericks will continue to practice over the next three weeks, before starting the 2015 season on Feb. 13 in Nacogdoches with their first game of the Stephen F. Austin Tournament against Missouri State.

UTA opens up the season with four games on the road before returning to Clay Gould Ballpark on Feb. 20 against Southeastern Louisiana in the UTA Hilton Invitational.

The Mavericks are coming off of a 33-26 season that ended in the Sun Belt Conference championship game with a one-run loss to Louisiana. UT Arlington also had a record number of players taken in the 2014 MLB draft as six Mavs were selected, raising UTA's all-time draft total to 48 players.
