ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington women's tennis looks to put its signature on a successful fall season, closing out the schedule at the Wild West Shootout hosted by North Texas.
The Mavericks are coming off a rain-shortened weekend in the ITA Texas Regionals that saw several UTA players advance through the bracket. Jessica Birowski was able to make a run through doubles and is hoping to end on a high note.
"Mentally, I think we are all on top of things," Birowski said. "There is nothing holding us back from performing the best that we can at UNT. It is just about performing the best as possible. We can try new things we have worked on and it's the last opportunity to do so in the last tournament. It is time to enjoy being able to play."
For UTA coach Diego Benitez, it is his last opportunity to get a look at the team before they head into team play in January.
"I am looking forward to see how the freshmen do," Benitez said. "It is going to be really good competition. They are also going to be playing doubles together so it is exciting to see."
