ARLINGTON, Texas -- Cassidy Wheeler has been named the Maverick Club Student-Athlete of the Week. Cassidy is a sophomore setter on the volleyball team from Kingwood, Texas. Wheeler, a kinesiology major, hopes to go into orthopedic medicine and help athletes across the country after graduation.

MC: Are you the first person in your family to attend college?
CW: No
 
MC: What does your education mean to you?
CW: My education means everything to me. Education is what opens doors for the future.
 
MC: What is your favorite quote?
CW: "Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic."
 
MC: What is one thing your teammates don't know about you?
CW: I met Kid Cudi before he was famous.
 
MC: What can you cook best?
CW: Pulled Pork

MC: If you were allowed to play in a movie, which would that be? What role?
CW: Bridesmaids; Lily
 
MC: What did you want to be when you were a child?
CW: A marine biologist to train dolphins.
 
MC: What is your most memorable Christmas present?
CW: My first iPod.
 
MC: What was the most exciting event you waited for?
CW: My first college volleyball game.
 
MC: Do you have a famous family member?
CW: My Great Grandfather was the first black mayor of Cleveland, Ohio.
 
MC: What has been your favorite class at UTA?
CW: Anatomy and Physiology
 
MC: Who is your favorite professor at UTA and why?
CW: Dr. David Keller, because he taught the first kinesiology class I took and he made an hour and a half class fun and interesting.
