ARLINGTON, Texas - We love that you love UTA. And we want our student-athletes, staff, alumni, parents and supporters to share why they love UTA the entire month of February. The entire month will feature various ways that you can demonstrate your love of UTA.

The February initiative begins Feb. 1 with our student-athletes sharing why they love UTA across a variety of media outlets such as email, social media and even with phone calls.

While we want to share our love of UTA, we also hope that alumni and our extended UTA family will share their testimonials regarding their affection of UTA through social media (use #WhyILoveUTA) and by helping us grow the Maverick Club.

At the end of February, we hope to have added 58 new Maverick Club members (two members per day for 29 days - clever isn't it for the month holding Valentine's Day?!?).

"Whether you share your reason you love UTA on Facebook or join the Maverick Club at the $1000 level, this month is about our entire athletic community connecting over one thing - your love of UTA Athletics," said Kris Wood, Assistant A.D. for Development.

The goal of the Maverick Club is to provide scholarship assistance, academic resources, and forge lifelong friendships between student-athletes, alumni, and our supporters. Donors can take pride in knowing that their gift directly benefits the 221 student-athletes at UTA and directly leads to their achievement of Championships and earning their degrees.

Joining the Maverick Club is more than just giving a monetary gift supporting UTA Athletics. It's a symbol of your love of UTA and connects you to the 350-plus members who are a member of our team. Be our valentine during February and show your love of Maverick Athletics. Remember to use #WhyILoveUTA when sharing your stories on social media.
