Postgame Quotes

UTA Head Coach Scott Cross
"I thought that was a hard fought game. It was two teams that were very similar in style of play. I was proud of our guys. It seemed we took a step in the right direction tonight. We got a little more of our grit and defensive-mindedness back. In the second half of our previous two games, our intensity dropped when the other team went on (scoring) runs. I was happy to see our guys tonight, when Arkansas went on the run, that we continued to fight and claw and continue to play defense as good as we possibly could. They did a great job in creating some steals in the half court. I thought we did an awesome job handling their pressure in the full court. Arkansas has a good basketball team. Our guys hung with them for 40 minutes and I'm proud of them.

"(Kevin Hervey) had three fouls in the first half. He is a guy that definitely could help. He has such as high basketball IQ. He is a good passer. He can shoot it. He is skilled. We weren't able to play him the minutes we would have like. He is a guy that is a relaxing presence on the rest of our guys. He doesn't panic when things get going. He has supreme confidence in his abilities. We missed not having him out on the floor. Faith Pope was really good, though. He got some great offensive rebounds. He hit his free throws. He is an energy guy for us."

"(Slowing Arkansas' Moses Kingsley) is probably a credit to Jorge Bilbao. He is probably our toughest guy. He lives for the challenge of going against great (players). Jorge is a guy that if I tell him to run through this brick wall, he will run through it. He does all the little things."

"(Slowing Dusty Hannahs) was our other glue guy, tough guy Drew Charles. He was on him. We switch, but he is the guy in the half court we wanted on him. Hannahs is an outstanding player that can shoot it from anywhere. You can't give him any space. Drew is one of those guys who lives for the challenge of stopping the opposing player. Those guys don't do it for the credit. They just play as hard as they possibly can."
