ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington outfielder Britnea Barilli was named Sun Belt Conference's Community Coffee Student-Athlete of the Week after a stellar performance at the plate last week.

"Barilli has been a tough out all year," UT Arlington coach Kristie Fox said. "She is a great example of what consistent hard work and determination can accomplish. This weekend you could tell she was seeing the ball and came up with two clutch walk-off hits."

The senior outfielder for the Mavs was dominant at the plate against the Mountaineers, going 7-for-11 with four RBI, one run and a stolen base in the three games against Appalachian State.

Barilli helped the Mavs get on the board early in Game 1, drawing a one-out walk before coming around to score in the bottom of the first inning. She drove in the first of her three RBI in the game in the third on a base hit up the middle, pushing the Maverick lead to 3-0. Her second RBI of the came on a bases loaded walk in the fourth. Barilli capped off the scoring for the Mavs in the fifth with an RBI single to left field, ending the game via run-rule.

Undoubtedly the biggest hit of the weekend for Barilli was a walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the eighth in Game 2 in the series. Prior to her walk-off, Barilli sparked a huge seventh inning comeback, drilling a leadoff single to centerfield, with the Mavs trailing by five. Barilli also recorded hits in the first and fifth innings of the game.

She went 1-for-4 in Game 3, with her hit coming the bottom of the first inning.

Barilli has been a stronghold in the Mavericks lineup, starting every game in left field over the past three and half years. She is also in the hunt for the Maverick all time walks record trailing only Jill Garro at the top with 141.
