Postgame Notes

  • UTA improved to 14-5 on the season and 4-2 in the Sun Belt. The Mavericks remain in College Park Center Monday (January 23) for an 8 p.m. (CST) Sun Belt Conference contest against Louisiana. The game will be televised live by American Sports Network and streamed via ESPN3.
  • ULM dropped to 6-13 on the season and 0-6 in the Sun Belt. The Warhawks travel to San Marcos Monday for a 7 p.m. tipoff at Texas State.
  • ULM's starting lineup consisted of forward Travis Munnings, center Sam Alabanks and guards Marvin Jean-Pierre, Nick Coppola and Wade Martin.
  • Nathan Hawkins was UTA's first substitute off the bench at the 15:14 mark of the first half.
  • Junior guard Kaelon Wilson earned his third straight start. He started 12 of the final 13 games of last season. Freshman guard D.J. Bryant earned his first career start.
  • Junior guard Erick Neal registered 2 3-point field goals in today's game, giving him 132 in his career. He moved into a tie for 10th on the program's list for career 3-pointers (Jabari Johnson had 132 3-pointers in 54 games from 1999-01.
  • Junior forward Kevin Hervey scored 14 points in today's game. He has scored in double-figures in 12-straight appearances (He missed the Troy game) and 15 times this season.
  • Senior guard Jalen Jones scored 23 points in today's game, equaling his season high in the opener against Texas Southern. His career best is 24 points at Georgia Southern on Feb. 4, 2016.
  • Jorge Bilbao registered his third double-double of the season with 13 points and 15 rebounds. His 15 rebounds against ULM set a career-high (13 twice previously). He had 10 points and 10 rebounds in the home win over Coastal Carolina and 17 pts, 13 boards at South Alabama.
  • UTA moved to 13-0 when outrebounding its opponent this season. The Mavericks are also 13-0 when shooting a higher field goal percentage than its opponent.
