UTA Head Coach Scott Cross
"I thought, in the second half, our defense was probably as good as it has been all year long. These two guys (Jalen Jones, Jorge Bilbao) led the charge. They came up with big rebounds for us. I thought our rotations were great. Defensively, we played with a lot of grit and that carried over. We were able to get a few easy baskets and that was where we were able to get that lead and put them away. (ULM) is a good basketball team. They compete, they play hard and they are well-coached. I definitely feel fortunate that we came away with a win tonight.
"(The team effort) was incredible in the second half. To me, we played hard in the first half. But, in the last five minutes they were the tougher, grittier team. In the second half, that completely changed. Again, it had a lot to do with these two guys. If I was going to war, I would want these two guys next to me. They are two of the toughest guys I have ever coached."
UTA Senior Jalen Jones
"We definitely had a chip on our shoulder coming into the game. They beat us three times last year. So, we knew we wanted to come in here and beat them. It was good to get the win."
UTA Senior Jorge Bilbao
"I felt great tonight. I try to come out and play with energy and be a leader on and off the court. That is something I have to bring everyday. You always have to give everything thing you have, play with energy and bring it every night. That's what I tried to do tonight. We played (well) the other night, but we needed to keep playing better. We need to build the way we want to play every single day. We can't just play one good game. We have to bring it every single game."
ULM Head Coach Keith Richard
On the Warhawks' performance:
"We missed nine in a row against Georgia Southern and 13 in a row today. We were missing some offense when we really needed it."
On the play of Jordon Harris and team's offensive production:
"Jordon did a great job and that's been the story of our team so far in conference play, in particular. No one consistently has been able to put back-to-back nights together offensively. Tonight it was Jordon and last game it was somebody else. We just need more consistent productivity from two or three players, whoever they are, to go through a whole game. That more than anything has been a problem for us."
On ULM's amount of turnovers:
"We told our team at halftime, the game in the first half, our half-court defense against their half-court offense was good. It was the turnovers that led to points by UTA. They really flew down the floor in transition and we knew that. It was a battle that we needed to win and we didn't."
