Postgame Notes

  • UTA improved to 18-6 on the season and 8-3 in the Sun Belt. The Mavericks remain at home Monday (Feb. 13) for an 8 p.m. (CST) game against Little Rock in College Park Center. The game will be televised by American Sports Network and streamed live on ESPN3.
  • Arkansas State fell to 18-7 on the season and 9-3 in the Sun Belt. The Red Wolves plays at Texas State Monday night (Feb. 13).
  • Arkansas State's starting lineup consisted of forward Jahmiah Simmons and guards Donte Thomas, Rashad Lindsey, Devin Carter and C.J. Foster.
  • Kaelon Wilson was UTA's first substitute off the bench at the 15:23 mark of the first half.
  • Junior forward Kevin Hervey registered 9 rebounds against Arkansas State. The Arlington native now has 528 in his career and passed John Shelton (520, 1965-69) for 19th on the UTA record book for career rebounds.
  • Hervey scored 19 points in today's game against Arkansas State. He has scored in double-figures in 17-straight appearances (He missed the Troy game) and 20 times this season.
  • Junior guard Erick Neal registered 9 assists against Arkansas State. The Dallas native now has 460 in his career and passed Shaquille White-Miller (455, 2010-14) for 3rd on the UTA record book for career assists. Ricket Leggett (1977-81) is second with 501.
  • UTA's 34 free throw attempts is the most for the Mavericks in a single game this season. The previous high was 33 at Troy (1/14/17).
  • UTA's 26 made free throws is the most for the Mavericks in a single game this season. The previous high was 25 at South Alabama (1/16/17).
  • The victory over Arkansas State extended UTA's home win streak to 13-straight games, dating back to Feb. 20, 2016 against ULM. UTA is 10-0 at home this season.
