Postgame Notes
- UTA fell to 17-7 and 10-4 in the Sun Belt after its first loss of the season a team with a losing record. The setback was also UTA's first defeat on the East Coast after taking the first five games. Georgia State won its first game at home against UTA and moved to 11-15 overall and 7-8 in conference. UTA leads the all-time series 5-2. The matchup was the only scheduled meeting this season.
- With her first assist of the game, Cierra Johnson passed Melissa Nix for eighth in UTA assist history. Johnson finished with just one and has 216 in her career.
- UTA was outscored 20-8 in the second quarter, reversing the trend with a 16-9 advantage in the third. The teams tied at 21 apiece in points off turnovers. UTA forced 26 in the game, but gave up 22.
- Christina Devers led the UTA attack with a team-high 19 points on 6-of-14 shooting. She finished with three of the team's seven treys. Johnson was also in double figures with 16
- Ericka Mattingly had an impressive day with five assists and five steals, however, she'd also throw away five turnovers.
- UTA shot just 36.0 percent from the field (18-50), its second lowest of conference play.
- Georgia State knocked down nine 3-pointers and were led by Jada Lewis and Makeba Ponder in scoring. Lewis had a game-high 21 points, while Ponder finished with 20 behind six knocked down from deep.
- UTA returns home for its final two games at College Park Center this season. UTA hosts Troy on Thursday at 7 p.m. and South Alabama on Senior Day at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The season closes the following week with a trip to ULM and Louisiana.
