ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington volleyball team close out its 2018 road slate this weekend in Arkansas. UTA will face Sun Belt Conference foes Little Rock (Nov. 2) and Arkansas State (Nov. 4). First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. and 12 p.m., respectively.

The UT Arlington volleyball team suffered a tough 3-2 (22-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-16, 15-17) loss to Louisiana on Saturday night (Oct. 27), despite a career-night from
Madison Hill.
Madison Hill finished with a career-high and match-high 26 kills. She also hit .460 and added four blocks and four digs.
Kylie Jedlicka recorded a double-double (her third of the season) 18 kills and 13 digs.
Bre Walp turned in nine kills and three blocks, while
Brooke Townsend added six kills and three digs.
Alex Janak registered her 12th double-double of the year with 34 assists and 11 digs and
Kylee Kapp chipped in with 23 assists and eight digs.
Madelyn St. Germain finished with a match-high 28 digs to go with seven assists.

UTA IN THE SUN BELT RANKINGS
The Mavericks lead the Sun Belt in digs per set (16.20/set), while also ranking tied for second in the conference in opponents hitting percentage (.177).
Individually,
Madison Hill,
Alex Janak and
Madelyn St. Germain lead the Sun Belt in hitting percentage (.401), service aces (36) and digs per set (4.50), respectively.
Bre Walp averages 1.04 blocks per set (80 total blocks) to rank 8th in the league, while Hill has racked up 250 kills and averages 2.84 kills per set, which is good for 10th in the conference.
SCOUTING LITTLE ROCK
Through six weeks of Sun Belt Conference play, Little Rock ranks among the league leaders in a number of categories. As a team, the Trojans lead the Sun Belt in blocks per set (2.69), opponent hitting percentage (.159) and total blocks (264) while ranking second in digs per set (15.74), hitting percentage (.239) assists (1,224) and kills (1,287) and third in assists per set (12.49). Individually, Veronica Marin is league leader in blocks per set (1.59), total blocks (156) and has the second best hitting percentage (0.386), while teammate Carol Barbosa has the third-best (0.383). Marin also has the third most points (376). Taylor Lindberg has collected the most triple-doubles (3) and Sydnee Martin has the seventh most digs at a mark of 368.
SCOUTING ARKANSAS STATE
Arkansas State enters the weekend on a three-game win streak over opponents Georgia State, Georgia Southern and Little Rock. The Red Wolves earned sweeps over Georgia Southern and Little Rock and defeated Georgia State 3-1, in Atlanta. Carlisa May led the Red Wolves' offense with 14 kills while Ellie Watkins handed out a game-high 24 assists, the home team earned 44 kills on the night against Little Rock.
Carlisa May currently ranks sixth in the nation with 384 kills on the year, while also checking in at 11th in the nation with 4.74 kills per set.
Ellie Watkins ranks 40th in the nation, and third in the Sun Belt, with 1,913 total assists on the season. She is also 72nd in the nation with 10.29 assists per set.
NEXT UP FOR UTA
The Mavericks will return to College Park Center next weekend when they host Sun Belt leader Texas State (22-5, 13-0 SBC) in their SBC regular season finale on Friday, Nov. 9. Friday night's matchup, which will also be Senior Day for the Mavs, is set for a 6:30 p.m. first serve.
