ARLINGTON, Texas - UTA Tennis continued its streak of earning Sun Belt awards as Guanarteme Nuez earned his second Sun Belt Player of the Week Award of the last three weeks, marking three consecutive a UTA player has achieved the feat.

Nuez, a junior, put up another huge week, going 4-0 in singles and 2-1 doubles at the No. 1 positions at the Golden State Invitational. Nuez picked up the match clincher in the semifinals in a tiebreaker against Hawai'i, as well as the only point against a Grand Canyon squad that had not given up a point. He also picked up singles wins over opponents from Penn and Saint Mary's (Calif.). In doubles, he teamed with junior Mauricio Del Rio for wins against Saint Mary's (Calif.) and Grand Canyon.

For the spring season, Nuez is 13-2 in singles and 11-3 in doubles.
