ARLINGTON, Texas - Junior Guanarteme Nuez is having a record-breaking season on the court as we he honored with his third Sun Belt Player of the Week award and second consecutive.

Nuez entered the ITA Rankings for the first time this season, pushing to No. 84 in the rankings released on Tuesday. Joining with women's player Agustina Serio, a UTA player has been named the player of the week for four consecutive weeks.

Nuez continued his tremendous singles play with one of the biggest wins in the Sun Belt this season as he defeated the then-No. 9 player in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Collegiate Rankings, Columbia's Victor Pham, in three sets (1-6, 6-3, 5-0 ret.). Nuez also picked up a 6-3, 6-3 singles win at the No. 1 spot against Lamar's Sebastian Santibanez after clinching the doubles point in a 6-3 victory with junior Mauricio Del Rio to open the match.

For the spring season, Nuez is 16-2 in singles and 12-5 in doubles.
