ARLINGTON, Texas - Standout point guard for UT Arlington from 2015-18,
Erick Neal has signed his first professional contract as he heads overseas to Turkey to play for Yeni Mamak Spor Kulubu.
After the news broke, Neal posted on his Twitter account "Thank you God and everyone that helped on this long journey to my pro career. Now lets get to work."
Last year, Yeni Mamak Spor Kulubu finished near the middle of the Erkekler League with an 11-11 record. They finished the league in seventh out of the eleven teams. Neal looks to help boost them towards the top of the league in the 2018-19 season.
Neal averaged more than 12 points per game in three of his four seasons at UT Arlington. His senior campaign was his brightest. He averaged 16.7 points, 6.7 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 2 steals each game. Neal was named second-team All-Conference member as a senior. He is also one of the top leading scorers in UT Arlington program history.
