SAN MARCOS, Texas – The UT Arlington volleyball team had a tough time getting on track Friday in a 3-0 (19-25, 14-25, 11-25) road loss at Texas State in the final match of the Mavs' regular season.
UTA (16-12, 8-8, SBC) scored first to open the first set, but couldn't get much else to go their way the remainder of the match. The Bobcats (22-8, 14-2) pulled away to take the first set. Texas State got off to quick starts in the second and third sets to finish off the sweep.
Kylie Jedlicka, who finished the regular season second on the team in kills, added 10 in the loss to lead the Mavs.
Brooke Townsend, who finished with a hitting percentage of .214, added six kills to her team-leading total of 344.
Devon Martinka led the Mavs with a hitting percentage of .267 and added five kills and a block.
UP NEXT
With the regular season coming to a close, the Mavs will head back to San Marcos for the Sun Belt Conference Championship, which begins next Thursday. The tournament will run through Sunday. Seeding is still undetermined and the Mavericks will have to wait until the final SBC regular season matches conclude this weekend to find out their seeding/opponent.
