ARLINGTON – The UT Arlington men's tennis team will continue their string of home matches this weekend, welcoming Lamar to Lifetime Fitness in Plano at 8:45 a.m. on Friday (Feb. 22). The match was moved to Plano because impending weather. This will be the sixth of seven straight home contests for the Mavericks.

The Mavs are coming off back-to-back 4-0 shutouts, with wins over Dallas Baptist and Cameron.Â
Enrique Pardo,
Guanarteme Nuez and
Mauricio Rio picked up the needed singles wins in both matches, while the teams of Nuez and Rio and Pardo and
Eduard Simo gave the doubles point to UTA.

Pardo leads the Mavs with 12 wins on the season, while Rio and Nuez are close behind with 10 wins a piece.

Lamar is 2-5 on the year, but is entering Friday's contest coming off a 4-3 win over UT Rio Grande Valley. The Cardinals are led by Axel Vila Antuna, who has won four straights in the No. 1 singles spot.

Following the match, UTA will wait a week before New Mexico State visits the UTA Tennis Center on March 3 (Sunday) at 11 a.m. to conclude their seven-match home stand.
