ARLINGTON, Texas – The UTA baseball team scored six runs in the final three innings, scoring the game-tying and game-winning runs off a throwing error by the shortstop in a 9-8 comeback win over Stephen F. Austin on Day One of the UTA Classic on Friday night at Clay Gould Ballpark.
With the win, the Mavericks improve to 4-2 on the season and extend their winning streak to four games, while SFA falls to 2-4 on the year.

Zac Cook and
Josh Minjarez each finished 2-for-4 at the dish, while
Anthony Dominguez went 2-for-5. The Mavs totaled 10 hits on the night, including five extra base hits (four doubles and a triple).
Wyatt Divis earned his first victory of 2019 after tossing a one-two-three ninth inning for the Mavericks.
The Mavs will return to the field Saturday afternoon when they face Wichita State on Day Two of the UTA Classic. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
