ARLINGTON, Texas — The UT Arlington men's tennis team will begin their final stretch of the season with five matches in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, four of which are at the UTA Tennis center.

The Mavs start the match with three matches this week, beginning by traveling to Dallas to take on SMU (5 p.m.) on April 3. They will wrap up the week with Sun Belt matches against Troy (2 p.m.) on April 5 and South Alabama (10 a.m.) on April 7, both taking place at the UTA Tennis Center.
UTA returns to Texas following two matches in the Carolinas, falling to Coastal Carolina 4-0 before topping Appalachian State 4-0 to end the trip. With the split, the Mavs sit at 11-7 overall and 2-2 in Sun Belt play.

UTA NOTES
•
Guanarteme Nuez will go down as one of the best Mavericks in program history. Through four years, he has come away with a combined 129 career victories, the eight most in school history.
•
Enrique Pardo is having on of the best seasons in Maverick history. His .750 winning percentage this season is the sixth best in program history.
• The Mavs have dominated the No. 1 and No. 2 singles slots this season, going a combined 26-8 (.764) on the year.

SCOUTING SMU
The Mustangs sit at 11-2 overall prior to the Wednesday matchup. They have lost three of the last four matches. Four Mustangs have double-digit wins – Tomas Vaise (13), Jan-Simon Vrbsky (12), Carles Sarrio (11) and Roberto Rosales (10).

SCOUTING TROY
Troy is 15-4 overall and 1-3 in the Sun Belt, losing two straight to the Sun Belt schools in the Peach State. Troy has yet to lose a match in the No. 2 singles competition, with a perfect 17-0 record on the season. Oskar Michalek leads the Trojans with a 12-0 record in the No. 2 spot.

SCOUTING SOUTH ALABAMA
The Jaguars sit at 13-6 overall and 3-1 in conference play. They are coming off a 4-3 loss to Georgia State, but have won three of their last four. Loic Cloes and Maxime Lapraille lead the Jaguars in wins. Cloes has a 14-4 record, while Lapraille has a 12-5 record.

UTA will host Wichita State on Monday, April 8 at 1 p.m. at the UTA Tennis Center. The match is the rescheduled date for the match that was originally scheduled for February.
