Box Score ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington men's tennis team (13-8) took on the Wichita State Shockers to wrap up their non-conference schedule.  The Shockers got the best of the Mavericks, defeating UTA 4-1 at the UTA Tennis Center on Monday afternoon.

The match was started with the Shockers taking the doubles point over the Mavs, two matches to one.  Guanarteme Nuez and Mauricio Rio fell to No. 26 Murkel Dellien and Marius Frosa on Court One.  Enrique Pardo and Eduard Simo tied the match up in the No. 2 competition, 6-2, but almost as soon as they tied it up, the Shockers clinched the point.  Stefan Latinovic and Haru Inoue defeated Miguel Cabrera and Alejandro Hayen in the No. 3 doubles slot to take the doubles point, 6-3.

Singles play didn't fair well for the Mavericks, losing three of the four matches that finished.  Miguel Cabrera was the first to fall, losing to Orel Ovil 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 5 slot.  Mauricio Rio cut the Shocker advantage to just one, defeating Marius Frosa 6-2, 6-0 on court three, but UTA couldn't get another point.  Stefan Latinovic put the Shockers within one point of clinching the match with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Eduard Simo, before Murkel Dellien defeated Enrique Pardo in the No. 1 singles competition 6-4, 6-4 to give Wichita State the victory.

The Maverick will look to send their seniors - Guanarteme Nuez, Enrique Pardo and Mauricio Rio - out on top on Saturday, April 13 when they host Louisiana for Senior Day at the UTA Tennis Center beginning at 11 a.m.
