ARLINGTON, Texas - UTA Athletics has unveiled new and revamped official team social media handles with the aim of increasing brand consistency. Launched Friday, July 12, all team accounts will now look the same throughout the department and will be easier for fans to locate and find information.

Users who liked or followed the accounts previously have automatically been switched over to the new sport accounts.
 
The process was part of an effort to align social media accounts with the overall UTA Mavericks brand. Fans will notice that handles and usernames are now cleaner, easier to search and more centralized with how the brand is presented in the public space.

Along with handles and usernames being changed and added, new profile pictures and cover photos were designed to help create a consistent look across all platforms and make it easier to identify the team associated with the account.

Additionally, those teams – regardless of gender – which did not have a Twitter, Instagram or Facebook account previously now have a dedicated account on each social media platform.

"Having consistent, branded and engaging social media accounts across our 15 teams will better allow us to serve our wide array of constituents," said Associate AD for Communications Jason MacBain. "This is an important first step of a larger holistic change to our social media engagement through a 'content-first' philosophy. There are so many great things our student-athletes, coaches, staff and supporters are accomplishing, and it's vital to capture and tell those stories in a more interactive way than ever before."

The main department Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts remain @UTAMavs. Head to our social media directory (UTAMavs.com/socialaccounts) to follow all your favorite teams, coaches and staff.
