ARLINGTON, Texas – The UTA Movin' Mavs men's and women's wheelchair basketball teams have officially earned their seeds for the 2026 National Intercollegiate Wheelchair Basketball Tournament (NIWBT), as announced by the National Wheelchair Basketball Association.
The Movin' Mavs secured the No. 4 seed in the tournament and will play the winner of No. 5 seed Illinois and No. 12 seed Michigan in the National Quarterfinals. The Lady Movin' Mavs earned the No. 2 seed and are set to face No. 3 seed Arizona in the National Semifinals. The 2026 NIWBT will be held April 1–4 in Tucson, Arizona, hosted by the University of Arizona, and will feature the nation's top collegiate wheelchair basketball programs competing for a national championship.
Tournament Outlook
With seeding now finalized, UTA is positioned to make a strong run at the national title. The Movin' Mavs program will look to add to its legacy of 12 national championships. The NIWBT represents the pinnacle of collegiate adaptive athletics, bringing together elite competition from across the country while highlighting the growth and impact of wheelchair basketball at the intercollegiate level.
