Box Score WACO, Texas – Individuals from the UT Arlington men's tennis team competed in the Waco ITA Fall Circuit over the weekend, playing for just the second time this fall season.
 
Following an appearance in the semi-finals two weeks ago, Alan Sau Franco advanced to the quarterfinals on Saturday after his opponent withdrew in the first round.  Sau Franco would lose 6-2, 6-2 to Charles Broom (Baylor) in the quarterfinals.
 
Alejandro Hayen dropped his opening round match to Ethan Muza 6-4, 6-4.  Solano Caffarena lost to Baylor's Finn Bass 6-2, 6-2. Ricardo Alban fell 6-2, 6-1 to George Goldhoff.  Daichi Akiyoshi dropped his first match of the season to Nick Stachowiak (Baylor) 6-0, 6-3.
 
The Mavs will have a week off before returning to a Waco for a third time to participate in the ITA Texas Regional (Oct 23-25), where they will play for a chance to qualify for the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships.
