Box Score 2 NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas – UT Arlington's men's and women's tennis teams put up strong showings in the Richland Hills ITA Fall Circuit, as members from both teams won the tournament that ended Sunday morning.

Angel Diaz won the men's bracket by defeating three people. He began the tournament with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Jeff Barton, advancing him to the semifinals. In the semi-finals, Diaz took down Landon Ardila 6-2, 6-2 before advancing to the finals and defeating Pranav Kumar.

Diaz wasn't the only successful men's tennis player at the tournament.
Alejandro Hayen made it to the semifinals but fell just short. He won his first match 2-6, 6-4, 10-5 over Johannes Schretter. With a chance to play his teammate in the championship, he fell in a tough-fought three-set match, 7-5, 4-6, 8-10.

On the women's side,
Lucia Natal took home the medal. She needed three sets to make it out of the first round, defeating Harper Santos 6-2, 2-6, 10-4. In the semifinals she met teammate
Carla Pons, who defeated Tiffany Hollebeck in the first round 6-2, 6-1. Natal got the best of Pons, winning in three sets 0-6, 7-6, 11-9. In the championship match, Natal took on Enya Ratkic winning in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.

The men's team will travel to Waco next weekend to participate in the ITA Texas Regional for a chance to qualify for the ITA Fall Nationals, while the women will have the week off before traveling to Houston over Halloween weekend.
