ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men's tennis team hits the road this weekend for two matches against Texas foes. The Mavs will take on Texas A&M Corpus Christi at noon on Saturday (Feb. 8) before heading to Beaumont to take on Lamar on at 11 am on Sunday (Feb. 9).
UTA NOTES
• The Mavs have already matched the number of 10+ win players that they had a season ago.
Miguel Cabrera (10),
Solano Caffarena (11),
Angel Diaz (10), and
Alan Sau Franco (11) have all reached the 10-win mark.
Daichi Akiyoshi (8),
Ricardo Alban (9) and
Alejandro Hayen (9) are closing in on the mark

Alan Sau Franco and
Solano Caffarena are currently second in the league in singles wins with 11 on the season, including fall play.
• UTA will look to improve upon their double's performance going forward. The tandem of Sau Franco and Hayen have picked up 10 wins, but no other tandem has more than three.
SCOUTING TEXAS A&M CORPUS CHRISTI
The Islanders are currently 6-1 on the season and 4-1 at home. Their only loss came against Louisiana last Saturday. Ryuya Ata and Kyohei Yamanaka are both 7-0 on the season. While Ata rotates between courts one, two and three, Yamanaka does most of his work on court five. TAMCC is also 12-5 in doubles action this season, including a perfect 5-0 on court one.
SCOUTING LAMAR
The Cardinals are currently 0-5 on the season and have only played one match in Beaumont. Their most recent match was a 4-1 loss to Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Miss.
ON DECK
The Mavs will have two weeks off until their next match when they travel to Wichita, Kansas to take on the Shockers of Wichita State on Feb. 21.
