ARLINGTON – Due to the on-going uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, the Maverick Open golf outing originally scheduled for October has been postponed.
Â
The UT Arlington Department of Athletics will instead look to hold the event at Texas Rangers Golf Club on Thursday, May 6, 2021. Details and information will be released when plans are solidified.
Â
The Mav Open – designed to create a fun, engaging atmosphere while raising resources for UTA student-athlete scholarships and department enhancements – was held at Texas Rangers Golf Club last fall for the first time.
Â
The course was designed by UTA alumni John Colligan and Trey Kemp of Arlington-based Colligan Golf Design and is the new home of the UTA men's and women's golf programs. It boasts an expansive 23-acre practice area which includes a wide driving range, multiple short-game areas and greens and even a Texas Rangers-logoed on-deck circle.
Â
Additional information regarding the re-scheduled Mav Open will be forthcoming, but any inquiries in the meantime can be addressed to
Alex Ware, Assistant AD for Maverick Club, at 817-272-9613 or
alex.ware@uta.edu.
