ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men's tennis team won their home opener on Saturday, defeating Cameron and dropping just one match along the way as the Mavericks defeated the Aggies 6-1 at the UTA Tennis Center.

Doubles action went by quickly as the Mavericks swept the three courts.Â
Angel Diaz and new partner
Nick Beamish took care of the No. 2 position 6-1 over Joao Duleba and Alvaro Chavez. The No. 1 position and No. 3 position finished with the same score of 6-3.Â
Alejandro Hayen and
Alan Sau Franco took Court One over Bruno Vietri and Oscar del Granado, while
Solano Caffarena and
Eduard Simo took down Maycon Dias and Carlos Vidal.

In singles action, No. 3 and No. 5 finished close to each other, both by a score of 6-1, 6-4 in favor of the Mavericks. Â
Miguel Cabrera took down Dias on Court Three, while Simo took Court Five over Chavez. Sau Franco defeated del Granado 6-2, 6-2 for the No. 2 position.
Nick Beamish won Court Six 6-3, 6-4 over Vidal. After a tough 7-5 win in set one, Caffarena took care of Duleba in set two 6-2 to take Court Four. Hayen was the lone Maverick to lose, dropping the No. 1 position 6-3, 7-6.
