ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington softball team dropped their first two games of the conference series against Troy Saturday night at Allan Saxe Field. UTA totaled 10 hits over the two games but was unable to plate enough across.
Shortstop
Emily Evans and senior
Madison Miller paced UTA's offense batting .500 on the day while third baseman
KJ Murphy followed closely behind and went 2-5 over both games.

Sophomore left fielder
Jadyn Erickson went 2-3 while
KJ Murphy,
Sophie Wideman and
Madison Miller all recorded one hit in the contest.
Freshman
Gracie Bumpurs got the start in the circle for the Mavs in game one. The right hander went on to throw two innings and allowed four hits.
Junior
Laura Henriksen came in for Bumpurs on the mound and threw the remainder of the game (5 IP) and only allowed two hits while facing 22 batters.
The Mavericks notched five hits in game one but were unsuccessful getting them in and fell 5-0 giving Bumpurs the loss.
PLAY BY PLAY- Game 1 vs. Troy (L 0-5)
- Troy got on the board early in the second inning off a couple of base hits to take a 4-0 lead.
- Despite back-to-back singles from Jadyn Erickson and KJ Murphy in the fourth inning, the Mavericks were unable to score, still trailing 4-0.
- The Trojans were able to scratch one more on the board extending their lead 5-0.
- UTA had a total of five hits in the contest but could not get them in.

Emily Evans led the Mavericks in game two going 2-3 at the plate while
KJ Murphy,
Madison Miller and
Jessica Carreon all notched one hit.
Kenedy Hines started on the mound in game two and threw 5.1 innings allowing four runs over 25 batters. Hines was replaced by junior
Allie Gardiner who went on to throw the remainder of the contest (1.2 IP) and allowed just one hit.
After scoring one run in the fourth inning, UTA remained scoreless for the rest of the game and dropped game two giving Hines the loss.
PLAY BY PLAY – Game 2 vs. Troy (L 1-4)
- The Trojans plated one run across in the first inning to take an early lead 1-0.
- Senior Madison Miller tied it up 1-1 with a solo home run to left field in the fourth inning.
- A double from Troy in the fifth inning lifted them to a 2-1 game.
- The Trojans put two more runs on the board from a home run to extend their lead to
