ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men's tennis team will play four games this week, including three in the next two days. The Mavericks open the week tomorrow when they face UTPB and Prairie View A&M at the UTA Tennis Center beginning at 10 am. On Thursday, the Mavericks will travel to Norman, Oklahoma to take on the Sooners, before ending the week on Saturday with a home match against Abilene Christian.
The Mavericks are coming off back-to-back wins last week defeating Southeastern Oklahoma State (7-0) and Lamar (4-0). The wins ended a four-match skid for UTA, and the Mavs now sit at 3-5 on the season.
Angel Diaz went a perfect 4-0 last week, winning both of his singles and doubles matches. He now sits at 6-7 on the season.
Alan Sau Franco leads the Mavs with 8 wins on the year and is on a two-match winning streak in singles play.
Miguel Cabrera sits at 5-5 on the season, dating back to tournament play, but is 3-1 in dual competition. In his last seven matches, he is 5-2 and is on a two-match winning streak.
