ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington women's tennis team broke a two-match skid, sweeping the Texas State Bobcats at the UTA Tennis Center on Sunday morning, 4-0. The Mavericks improve to 12-3 overall and are a perfect 5-0 in Sun Belt play.
The Mavericks went straight to business, picking up the doubles point to take the early 1-0 lead.
Bruna Casasampere and
Momoka Horiguchi took No. 2 doubles 6-2, while
Carla Pons and
Almudena Boza won No. 3 doubles by the same score.
In singles competition, the Mavericks took courts four through six to capture the three remaining points needed to win the match.
Carla Pons won in straight sets, winning every game along the way to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles.
Almudena Boza followed with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles before Bruan Casasampere ended the match with a 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6 singles

The Mavericks will travel to Baylor on Wednesday (March 31) before returning to the UTA Tennis Center one last time on Thursday for Senior Day.
