ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men's and women's tennis teams return home to play at the UTA Tennis Center this Saturday through Monday (March 6-8).  The women's team will play Wichita State on Saturday at 11 am, while the men will take on Texas Tech on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both teams will take on UT Tyler at 2 p.m. on Monday.

The women are off to a hot start, going 5-0 to begin the season and have dropped just two individual matches on the season.  The Mavs are coming off a 4-0 win in their Sun Belt opener over Arkansas State on Wednesday.

Carla Pons continues to have a breakout season for the Mavericks.  The junior from Valencia is the first Mav to reach double-digit wins and sits at 10-2 on the year, including a perfect 5-0 in dual matches.
Lucia Natal also continues to impress, sitting at 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in dual play.
Momoka Horiguchi is a perfect 3-0 in the No. 1 singles position for the Mavericks.

In doubles play, Natal and Horiguchi have locked down the No. 2 doubles position with a perfect 3-0 record on the year.  Pons and
Almudena Boza are 2-0 in the No. 3 doubles position.

The men have had a tougher start to the season, sitting at 1-4 overall and have dropped three in a row. They are coming off a 6-0 loss to SMU on Monday in Dallas.

Angel Diaz will look to capture his first win of the season. After going undefeated during his first year on campus, he is 0-4 this season on court one.
Miguel Cabrera has been a bright spot for the Mavs, winning both matches he has played in the No. 3 singles position.

Alan Sau Franco and
Alejandro Hayen will look to bounce back from their first loss of the season on Monday.  They have already have a win over Baylor's top doubles team earlier this season.
