ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington softball team and North Texas battled in a pitcher's duel Wednesday night at Allan Saxe Field as the Mavericks came up short 1-0.

UTA notched just two hits in the contest from
Kenedy Hines (1-3) and senior
KJ Murphy (1-3) who recorded her ninth double of the season.
Head coach
Peejay Brun utilized two pitchers as junior
Laura Henriksen got her twelfth start in the circle for the Mavericks and threw two innings allowing one run before being replaced by Hines.
Sophomore Hines went on to throw the remainder of the contest (5 IP) and did not allow a single run across 16 batters faced.
The Mavericks could not find a way to plate any runs across as Henriksen got the loss.
PLAY BY PLAY
- North Texas plated one across from a hit-by-pitch to take a 1-0 lead in the second inning.
- Hines reached first on an infield single to tab the Mavs' first hit of the game.
- Murphy knocked a two-out double to left field for UTA's second hit but the Mavs were unable to score.
- The Mavericks remained scoreless for the rest of the contest falling 1-0 to the Mean Green.
