ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington men's tennis team finished the regular season with a sweep over Southern Arkansas on Monday afternoon at the UTA Tennis Center. The Mavericks finish the regular season at 7-10 overall.
 
The Mavs went straight to work in doubles action, taking No. 1 and No. 3 to secure the doubles point.  Alan Sau Franco and Alejandro Hayen took down Sander Jans and Sofiane Bah 6-2 at court one before Miguel Cabrera and Angel Diaz won on court three by the same score over Gabriel Breitenmoser and Ole Lukas Valkyser.
 
UTA sweep the singles courts, but it wasn't without a fight.  Alejandro Hayen and Solano Caffarena won their matches in straight sets.  Hayen took down Lukas Valkyser 6-3, 7-6 while Caffarena took down Bah 6-2, 6-3.
 
At No. 1, Sau Franco dropped the first set against Jans, but battled back to win the final two sets 7-6, 7-5.  Angel Diaz didn't drop a game in his first set but fell 7-6 in the second before taking set three 6-3.
 
Miguel Cabrera and Nick Beamish wrapped up the matches to secure the sweep.  The two players played nearly the same match at No. 3 and No. 5.  Both dropped the first set 6-4 before bouncing back in the second set to win 6-3.  Cabrera took set three 6-3, while Beamish won his final set 6-4.

The Mavericks will travel to Peachtree City, Georgia to play in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament beginning this Friday, April 23 at the Peachtree City Tennis Center.
