MONROE, Louisiana – The UT Arlington softball's offense carried into the 10-6 weekend sweep over ULM Sunday as the Mavericks tallied 28 runs off 34 hits over the course of the series.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE (W 10-6)
Left fielder
Jadyn Erickson paced the Mavericks at the plate going 3-4 while Madi Miller (3 RBI),
Emily Evans (2 RBI),
Kenedy Hines and
Jessica Carreon all finished with two hits on the day.
Freshman
Gracie Bumpurs earned the start on the mound for the Mavericks and threw two innings allowing two earned runs off four hits.
California native
Allie Gardiner replaced Bumpurs in the circle and pitched the remainder of the game (5 IP) allowing three earned runs getting her third win of the season.
PLAY BY PLAY
- Erickson led things off for the Mavs with a triple before a Warhawk error and a base-hit from the bat of Evans would plate four runs in the first inning.
- The Warhawks answered back in the second inning with three runs making it a one-run ball game off a trio of base-hits.
- The Mavericks went on to score three more insurance runs courtesy of two base-hits and a double to extend their lead 7-3.
- UTA continued to rally through the fifth inning as five singles scored three runs to make it a 10-3 ball game.
- The Warhawks battled back with three runs but Gardiner powered through the last two outs as the Mavericks picked up the 10-6 win.
