SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State's offense outlasted the UT Arlington softball team as the Mavs fell to the Bobcats 8-0 in game one Thursday evening in San Marcos.

Amber Langston paced the Mavericks' offense going 2-2 at the plate while third baseman
KJ Murphy finished 1-2.

JoJo Valencia got the start in the circle and faced just five batters allowing four earned runs before sophomore
Kenedy Hines made an appearance.
Hines went on to pitch the remainder of the five-inning contest while allowing four earned runs across 21 batters faced.
The Mavericks were unable to get any runs across giving Valencia the loss.
PLAY BY PLAY
- Texas State took an early lead scoring six runs off an RBI-single up the middle followed by a two-run and three-run home run in the bottom of the first.
- Murphy led things off with a bunt single in the fifth inning but UTA was unable to plate her across.
- The Bobcats knocked a double to kick off the bottom of the fifth inning before two RBI-singles would score two runs that ended the contest in an 8-0 run-rule.
