Cross Country To Return To Lynn Creek Park

GRAND PRAIRIE – After being away for the last two years, the UT Arlington cross country program is returning to its home-course roots of Lynn Creek Park at Joe Pool Lake beginning this fall.

The Mavericks previously called Lynn Creek Park – located at 5610 Lake Ridge Parkway – home from 2013-18, hosting their annual meet in addition to the UIL regionals. Since 2019, the Mavs have held their home meets at Jesse Owens Memorial Athletic Complex in Dallas; beginning in 2018 the UIL races were also contested there.

"We're excited and looking forward to returning to Lynn Creek Park," stated UTA head coach John Sauerhage. "They are committed to maintaining and creating a great course in an ideal location. I can't thank the folks at Dallas ISD enough for hosting us the last couple of years at Jesse Owens, but this move back to Lynn Creek is in our program's best interest. We want to make this site a destination in DFW to host future Sun Belt Conference and NCAA South Central Regional meets."

The Mavs first meet back at Lynn Creek Park will be its annual invitational the morning of Saturday, Sept. 11. UTA will also host the UIL Conference 3A Region I and Conference 2A-6A Region II meets at the venue on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 25-26.
