Box Score WACO, Texas --- The UT Arlington men's tennis team produced two big wins in the doubles main draw this weekend, advancing all the way to the round of 16 to highlight the action for the Mavericks in the ITA Division I Texas Regional Championships on Thursday at Baylor University's Hurd Tennis Center.
 
In the main draw round of 32, Anton Shepp and Solano Caffarena teamed up to defeat Nevin Arimilli and Evin McDonald of Texas 8-7 (11-9) while Santiago Giamichelle and Bautista Vilicich knocked off Luke Casper and Mathis Bondaz of Texas A&M 8-5.
 
"Those were two huge wins," UT Arlington head coach Diego Benitez said.

Advancing to the round of 16, the duos of Giamichelle/Bautista and Caffarena/Shepp were defeated by teams from TCU.
 
In the consolation portion of doubles, Daichi Akiyoshi and Ricardo Alban defeated UTRGV's Christopher Lawrance and Te Kani Williams 8-4.
 
In singles, the Mavericks had three players advance to the main draw's round of 64 with Giamichelle falling to Texas Tech's Isaac Arevalo, Vilicich losing to Rice's Trinity Grear and Shepp nearly defeating Baylor's Tadeas Paroulek in a pair of close sets (7-5, 7-5).
 
Giamichelle and Vilicich each added a singles victory in the consolation portion.

The Mavericks have now completed all their matches in the event.
