RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- Despite 19 points and 14 rebounds from
Starr Jacobs, the UT Arlington women's basketball team (6-7, 0-1) lost the WAC opener, 67-61, on the road to California Baptist (5-7, 1-0) inside the Events Center on Thursday.

Jacobs finished 6-of-12 from the field and added a team-high four steals along with three assists.
Kayla White chipped in 13 points while
De'Sha Benjamin had eight.
Shyia Smith finished second on the team in rebounds with seven, and
Taleyah Jones contributed a team-best four assists.

After a 5-of-11 first half from long distance, UT Arlington was hindered by an 0-for-10 finish in the second half. Despite that, it was the team's third-highest total in a game this season.

For Jacobs, it was her eighth double-digit scoring effort over the past 11 outings, as well as her ninth of the season overall. She is averaging 16.4 points over that stretch, and Thursday was her third double-double of the season and the seventh of her UTA career.

The Lady Mavs will be back in action against Tarleton on Saturday at 4 p.m. inside the College Park Center.
