ABILENE – The UT Arlington men's tennis team will look to rebound from their first loss of the season on Tuesday, as they travel to Abilene for a match against ACU on Friday, February 11 at noon.
The Mavericks have currently only lost five individual singles matches this season for an overall 19-5 (.792) record.
Miguel Cabrera and
Alan Sau Franco are both one win away from reaching double-digit wins on the season, including tournament play.
In doubles action UTA has dropped just two matches on the year, while winning seven (.778).
Alan Sau Franco and
Maks Lukman are a 3-1 on courts one and two, while
Miguel Cabrera and
Daichi Akiyoshi are 2-0 on court three.
SCOUTING ACU
The Wildcats are currently 1-6 on the year, but are coming off a 7-0 win over Dallas Baptist on January 29. They have played a tough schedule thus far, taking on #2 Baylor, #4 TCU and #24 Oklahoma in their first seven games. The Mavericks and Wildcats are 3-2 all-time and won their last match 4-0 last season.
ON DECK
UTA will be back on the court on Sunday, Feb. 13 when they host Southern Arkansas (10 am) and UT Tyler (2 pm) at the UTA Tennis Center.
