ARLINGTON - The UT Arlington women's tennis team swept UT Permian Basin with a 7-0 win, continuing their winning streak and moving the Mavericks to 5-0 for the season.
Sarina Reinertsen and
Ioana Dumitrescu took the first doubles win on Court 3, 6-2.
Momoka Horiguchi and
Ana Paula Jimenez then clinched the doubles point for the Mavericks with a 6-0Â win on Court 2.
In the singles matches, the Mavericks earned four wins in straight sets in order to win the match. Sarina Reinersten won the first singles match 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 5 spot.
Ana Paula Jimez proceeded to win at No. 6 with another 6-0, 6-0 win to put the Mavericks one point away from a win.Â
Tara Gorinsek gave the Mavericks the win with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No.2 spot.
Momoka Horiguchi quickly followed, winning 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1.
Although the match was already secured, the final two matches had the same outcome as the rest.
Nika Novikova secured a 7-5, 6-1 win on Court 3 after being down 4-5 in the first set.
Ioana Dumitrescu followed with a 6-4, 6-3 win on Court 4, ending the day on a victory.

The Mavericks will wait a full week before their next match, where they will host Southern Arkansas and UT Tyler on Sunday, February 13 at 10 am and 2 pm.
