CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The UT Arlington men's tennis team (3-1) suffered their first setback of the season on Tuesday afternoon, falling to Texas A&M Corpus Christi 6-1 in Corpus Christi.
The Islanders were quick to wrap up the doubles point, taking court one and two by the same score.
Solano Caffarena and
Ricardo Alban fell on court one 6-4, while
Maks Lukman and
Alan Sau Franco lost on court two 6-4.
Miguel Cabrera was the lone Maverick to pick up a victory for the Mavericks on the day, winning in three sets over Ryuya Ata 5-7, 7-5, 10-6.
Ricardo Alban fell on court six, 6-0, 6-2 before Lukman followed with a 6-2, 6-4 loss at the number four slot.
Daichi Akiyoshi lost his first match of the season 6-3, 6-2 on court five. Caffarena and Sau Franco both lost in three sets. Caffarena fell 7-5, 6-7, 6-10 on court three, while Sau Franco lost his battle on court one 7-6, 2-6, 4-10.
UP NEXT
The Maverick will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 11 when they travel to Abilene Christian at 12 pm for a match against the Wildcats.
