HOUSTON – The UT Arlington men's tennis team will finish a busy week as they travel south to take on Rice (March 12) and Lamar (March 13). The Mavs will take on the Owls in Houston and Lamar in Beaumont.
The Mavericks are coming off a 6-1 win over Boston College at the UTA Tennis Center on Thursday and will be looking to capture their 10
th win of the season this weekend.
UTA is winning their dual singles matches at a nearly 60 percent clip.
Maks Lukman leads all Mavs in dual action with an 11-4 record.
Anton Shepp has taken over line one is recent matches and has gone 2-1.
In doubles play the Mavericks continue to switch up the lineups. Regardless of partner,
Alan Sau Franco has been the best at number one doubles with a 3-2 record. On the season he is 5-5, as he holds a 2-3 record at court two.
Ricardo Alban has the most wins in doubles action, holding a 7-5 record entering the weekend.
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | RICE
The Owls are currently 8-6 on the season and are coming off a 4-1 win over Corpus Christi last Sunday. They will take on #49 Charlotte on Friday prior to taking on the Mavericks. Trinity Grear and Haoyuan Huang lead Rice with 10 wins each in singles action.
KNOW YOUR OPPONENT | LAMAR
Lamar is currently 8-4 on the season and are coming off a 2-4 loss to Corpus Christi on Thursday. They will take on Texas A&M on Friday prior to taking on the Mavericks on Sunday. Martin Garcia-Ripoll leads the Cardinals with a 9-2 record in singles competition, while Daniel Sancho Arbizu is 8-3 on the season. Lamar holds a 23-12 record in doubles action, with Garcia Ripoll and Joshua Taylor owning an 8-3 record on court three.
